I am wondering about the signs that rule the houses. In my natal chart, I have sag ruling my first and second houses and then gemini ruling my 7th and 8th house. Can this be right? So, cap and cancer don't rule any house?  Huh?  Thanks for starting this interesting forum and thanks for all your insights here and on FB and on your blogs Smiley Smiley Smiley

Hi LibraGirl, thanks for your support!
What is your actual birthdate info to construct a chart?
Typically Capricorn would follow your Sag, possibly picking up part of your second and third, while Cancer would pick up from your eighth house.

Hi Starcana,

My sag rising is at 29 degrees which is why the house cusps are skewed. So, on the birth chart that I got from astrolab, it shows that sag rules my first and second house and then it skips cap in order for aquarias to rule my third house. Is this possible and what does it mean? I do know that there are different ways to do houses when constructing a chart, would that make a difference? Should I not get too concerned about house rulers? I was just wondering because when I read a blog that says look to the natal house ruler of whichever planet is transiting then I want to know that I'm doing it correctly. I hope this makes sense... Thanks,  Grin

It sounds like you have Intercepted Houses/Signs.  We were talking about this the other day on here: http://www.astrocreepsandtarotfreaks.com/general-astrology/intercepted-housesplanets/

And it's like a "room within another room".  I read that description somewhere, I can remember, but I think I posted it on that thread.  The signs Pisces and Virgo aren't ruling any of my houses... Hope that helps.  Smiley

It was a description on another website, so I can't take credit for it... but it made a lot of sense to me. Smiley

Sharing houses.  Yeah I see this alot , especially when I am doing Placidus or other "unequale" house readings.  The house will always have a Ruler (sign of cusp) and Co-rulers.  For example, Drew Barrymore. She has in her 7th hose of Relationships, both Sag and Capricorn.  Wich tells me that when it comes to relationships, She is drawn , at first, to light open cheery expansive playful and then, about halfway through, they turn serious and traditional(capricorn).

Antoher example, Alanis Morissette.  Her rising Sign is Capricorn, so you wold figgure that she would be all serious and concrete and business like, but that is not the case. Ascendant itself is in Capricorn, wich explaines her rather "goatish in a cute way" Appearance.   But then there is mostly unconventional Aquarius followed by romantic dreaming Pisces.

If you wish to use just the cusp signs, that is fine. Does get about 75% right and is good enough for a down and dirty report.

Read the sign on the leading cusp to be "Initallly" then followed by traits of other signs through the house

Could somone pester me to remind me to blog this subject? KTHNXBAI
