Ironic...this is the third time I have come across a Dream Board today!  I just blogged about a dream I had last night.  I am going to copy/paste my post and would LOVE and ideas about why I get these dreams!

Since I was little I have had dreams of worldwide events before they happen.  It is very frustrating for me because I don’t know where these things will happen until I see it on the news.  Here are a few that I have had:

Had a dream that there was alot of water all around me..I was drowning in it and so were others. It was huge and as I was in the water I saw houses, cars and people float by me. 3 days later the tusnami hit Indonesia.

I had a dream a bridge collapsed and I felt myself falling into the water while sitting in my car. 2 days later the bridge collapsed in Minnesota.

Had a dream people were crying all over the world because Michael Jackson died. 2 weeks later he did.

Last night I had a dream my niece and I were on a train. We just bought her Disney princess cowboy boots (Huh?) and the train was hijacked and they ran it off the tracks. I felt us falling off the mountain and my niece just terrified. I physically felt her fear and I woke up crying.  There is not a train within 300 miles of us so my niece will be safe…thanks heavens.

These are just a few dreams I have had that came true. They are all on a grand scale, meaning they are large events..nothing I can stop and nothing I can warn people about as I don’t even know where they are.
Its very very frustrating!

On one blog I was reading this morning a gal said that people who have these dreams “feel” the events about to take place that is why they dream it.  Thats great but why do I even have them if I can’t help?  Doesn’t that seem counter-productive?

Ideas anyone?!?!

You may be assuming there's a purpose to your dreams - and I know it would be comforting to believe that there always is. But I think of these large-scale events as having significant energy around them - on a physics-scale think of everything being connected. I think we tap into this when we read tarot. You may be experiencing the energy of these events in your dreams - which doesn't mean there's anything you really can do about them, you're just particularly sensitive to that kind of energy. Just like we might be able to feel the phases of the moon or other astrological energies changing around us, but be unable to affect them.

I agree with Teresa. These energies are all around us all of the time, and I personally think it's great that you are tapping into the collective. However, If you are uncomfortable with the dreams, there are some measures you can take to try and stop them. I don't really know how successful you will be at blocking it though. It would seem to me that you may be fighting an uphill battle if you do. My advice would be to embrace your intuition and nurture your latent psychic abilities. This board is a great place to start.

Now, should you choose the other path, try looking into the stresses in your life. First, because stress is often a catalyst for psychic phenomenon. Second, dreams about flooding and drowning are often associated with some kind of overwhelming situation we are involved in. Falling might be a symbolic fall from grace. If you have guilt about something that has happened to you or someone else. Remember, we are all human and make mistakes, only in forgiving yourself will you find closure. You seem like a very sweet person, so I think that guilt in your case would be largely unfounded. Still, just because we are not at fault does not mean we feel no responsibilty.

Now here is the most important message I have for you. You have been experiencing dreams that demonstrate people who are at risk. You are, "Tapped in," and those closest to you who are in fear are going to have a significant impact on you. These bridges in dreams represent relationships and you have a dear relative whom you are obviously closely connected to. What might she be afraid of that she isn't likely to talk to about, and how would you feel guilty about it. You expressed a concern about having prophetic dreams and not being able to help those in trouble. Please keep a very close eye on your niece, especially if there are no other stresses in your life. When the third eye opens it's seldom, if ever, for trivial reasons. Nurture your gift dear friend. Until next time...

Love and light,

Bul,

Thank you both for your replies...I really appreciate the insight.
It's not as though I want to stop them - I just wish they came with a location, date, and time stamp!
As for my niece, we do have a very close connection...she's my girl.  This is not the first dream I have had about her in trouble either now that you bring it up.  I've had a few in the last couple of years and she's only 6.  Maybe her and I need to a weekly auntie Kellee sleepover...it seems she may be needing me and neither of us knew it.

Thank you again ;-)

More than happy my friend. I hope all that comes of it is a much stronger bond with your niece. A sleepover at Aunt Kellee's sounds like it will be wonderful!!! Have fun!
