My most reliable spread is the 15 card spread (mentioned above and discussed by me in this article I wrote: http://thelemicwaves.com/15-Card_Spread.html). The more I study this one, the more in-depth the positional meanings become for me.

I alternate between no spread, just 4-5 cards read as a story, great for general readings, or I have a lot of 3 card favorites. I usually use a triangle for those.

I use 9 different spreads that are based upon the Querient's soul card. Yeah, and you thought the mystery schools were formal. LOL.

If you are dealing with a soul of:

1. The Magician: The archtype of the spread is the diamond

2: The High Priestess: The archtype is the arrow

3. The Empress: The archtype is the cup

4. The Emperor: The archtype is the crown

5. The Hierophant: The archtype is the staff

6. The Lovers: The archtype is the pillars

7. The Chariot: The archtype is the spiral

8. Justice: The Archtype is the star

9. The Hermit: The archtype is the Bridge

My most reliable spread is the fibonacci spread. It's dynamic nature lends it to just about any circumstance. I just posted the details on another thread in this category if you care to try it out.
