I use Time Passages, which I think I mentioned earlier in the post. I use to think, 'eh, there are so many places online to grab charts... why bother'... but I decided to make my own investment anyway. Mostly for when the electric would go out, I wouldn't be able to do a chart for a new customer, if I could'nt get online. And sometimes, I just don't feel like getting online, and so the software is reliable and easy to reach. Also, when I do parties, I will sometimes take my laptop to create a chart, and again, I don't have to be on the internet to do so.

Ah good point. I see the truth of it.

I have Mars in Cancer and I rarely get out of the crib, the astrology contacts come to me or it's an email exchange that's cross country. When I do go out it's to stuff information into my head rather than do output: going to museums for eye-candy, or celebrating the 75th birthday of Imiri Baraka. Outings for me are for dancing in the street like for Dias de los Muertos. When people ask me when I'm out about astrology I tell them "Come to the crib and we'll chat. Now we dance!"

You're adorable AuntyAlias, I really enjoy your attitude! Both me and Astrogrrl also have Mars in Cancer! w00t! After starting a family and working at home (Cancer Mars rx in 10th), I'm quite the homebody myself.  Smiley

I agree, astrology software is wonderful for your calculations, but you need a good astrologer to interpret and put it together. Same goes with reports. Liz Greene had some that were pretty decent, but again...

As for me? I use Time Cycles/IO Astrology. I'm on the Mac so I don't have access to more robust programs like Solar Fire without starting with an emulation program. Too complicated.

I like IO Astrology because it is so easy to use. I used to have an old laptop that I'd sometimes cart to parties for quick party readings. While I was waiting for things to start or when there was a lull, I'd switch on the astrological clock screen saver. Then I could explain how the horoscope was astronomically accurate by showing the guests the position of the Sun relative to the horizon line and how it reflected the actual position of the Sun in the sky.

Okay, I just got a Mac and just got TimePassages.  I'm a SolarFire user and sad to say that SolarFire is much prettier than TimePassages.  Sad

Each Mac program has some features the others don't. Io Astrology is "pretty" and very easy to use. I like how TimePassages gives definitions of particular points when your mouse hovers over it and, imo, both are quite sufficient for normal chart reading. But neither have anywhere near the depth of features as Solar Fire.

Yeah I agree with previous poster. I Am a poor soul, so I don't use purchaed astroware. I like freeware, Did astrowin and Canopus and the others. Didn't care for any of them.

I started using the new Clairvision online caster. I like it alot. Saves me a ton of time with the casting and interpretations.  Tons of options for the charts themselves, the Java animated charts are great for timing.  Even been able to suss out birthtimes by matching moons. can get it to 1o or 15 minutes of time.

I power my blog by it.

Hmmm.. note to self, add "Powered by Clairvision" to my blog pages.

BTW and OT who wants linkbacks?
